Rules for Adding -ing

This poster provide rules and examples for adding -ing to verbs.  Verbs are action words and come in different forms that show “tense” or a reference to time.  When we add -ing to a verb, it is present tense: it is happening now.  There are some tricky spelling rules when adding -ing to words ending with an e, y and ie.
